National Day of Giving
In early September, the American Red Cross launched a $100 million nationwide fundraising campaign called the “Campaign for Disaster Relief: Disasters Change Lives. You Can Too.” We are past the half-way point, raising more than $60 million in cash and pledges for the Campaign for Disaster Relief.
We still need the public’s support to reach our goal of $100 million to replenish the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. On Saturday, Dec. 13, the American Red Cross will be in your neighborhood asking for generous contributions in support of the Campaign for Disaster Relief, which allows the Red Cross to respond to victims of disasters across the country.

The Disaster Relief fund was depleted as a result of an active year of disasters — disasters like the severe flooding of the Central U.S. and the numerous hurricanes that made landfall the active hurricane season Your generous donations to the Disaster Relief Fund allows the Red Cross to mobilize volunteers who provide food, shelter and counseling to people who need it, whenever and wherever disasters occur. This campaign ensures that the Red Cross will continue to be there to provide disaster relief to the American people.
