03.25.2009 Club Red hosts Sirens and Shields
CHARLOTTE – The relationship between first responders and the American Red Cross is an important one.
When there are home fires or other disasters, the Red Cross is there to provide help not only to the clients but also to the firefighters, emergency management and police. The organization provides much-needed drinks and snacks – sometimes even full meals – to first responders as they spend hours at the site of a disaster.
The relationship between the Red Cross and our first responders is being celebrated at the second annual “Sirens and Shields,” an auction that benefits the Greater Carolinas Chapter.
The event takes place from 7-11 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Cans Bar and Canteen in Uptown Charlotte (500 W. Fifth St., Charlotte, NC 28203). A $10 donation gets you in the door with free Michelob Ultra from 7-8:30 p.m. Or, a VIP table for $100 gets four people in the door at a table near the stage and a bottle of champagne.
First responders will auction off packages including a guided fishing tour in the mountains and a two-hour package with Supercar Sensation, where you can drive cars such as Ferraris or Porsches through the countryside. A big highlight of the evening is a package that boasts rounds of golf, personal golf lessons and two books of passes for the upcoming Quail Hollow Championship golf tournament.
All-night drink specials and more information can be found at www.redcrosshelps.org/sirensandshields.
