08.20.2009 Red Cross vehicle vandalized
Late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, an American Red Cross disaster response vehicle, nicknamed “Fred,” was vandalized in front of the Red Cross building at 2401 Park Road. The person(s) ripped off two of the rear doors, one of which is still missing. Also, the GPS system volunteers use to navigate to and from disasters was stolen.
As the Red Cross is a nonprofit organization that relies solely on the generosity of our community, this loss will be costly. People wishing to help can call 704.347.8271 or visit http://www.redcrosshelps.org to make a donation.
