08.07.2011 Volunteers assist multiple families after flash flooding
Volunteers from the American Red Cross staffed a shelter for two nights for those displaced by flash floods that occurred Friday, Aug. 5. A half-dozen people stayed in the shelter.
The Red Cross performed damage assessment for two days, counting nearly 100 homes that were affected by the flooding.
Volunteers met with affected families on one-one-one basis to assess their needs. The Red Cross provided assistance for food, shelter, clothing and other emergency needs.
